SESSION 7: WORDS AND PICTURES [CREATING NARRATIVE]

I learned to tell story through words and pictures. The tutor has shown me a video produced by Tim Walker, and I feel the sense of mystery and can strongly expressed the theme of mermaid, bringing me into his world. I like the narratives and background music in the video which has enhanced my sensual experiences. I aimed to use the photographs from previous section to build up a story along with text. I found it really challenging as I used to include concepts into my shooting, however my previous work didn’t have a distinct theme. In this lesson, I got to use some quoting apps, and I spotted out the features in photos and created some quotes relating to them. I tried to play with different colour, tones and placements to create the story. As I aimed to study creative direction, I see it as a long process to choose the photo best fit for the story telling, and further edit it sophisticatedly, so I will keep exploring in SDS.
